I use a few gmail accts: my primary (we'll call it RAND@gmail) is the
end of the automatic-forward-chain for ALL my email accts (really old
ones, school issued, etc) in general and another (we'll call this one
LAST.FIRST@gmail) I use for formal and school related stuff. It's
great for emails in that I can compose in the RAND acct and using
alias' can send as LAST.FIST. But this is not possible with chat
unfortunately.
To solve, I tried importing all my contacts from RAND to LAST.FIRST
(gmail to gmail export/import..., should be really easy right?) All
contacts imported successfully, but none are working with Chat! They
don't show up in the chat palette (even when online) and if I force
them to 'show: Always' in the contacts options, instead of the
familiar 'chat' button there's a 'invite to gmail' button. Whats
broken here? How can i fix it?
I've seen other forum posts (not here to my knowledge) about this
issue. Nobody seems to have a handle on fixing it, and the only
suggestion I found (clear browser cache) does not solve. Help please!
