I've downloaded gmail notifier and checked the box to use Gmail for
internet mailto: links.  But Internet Explorer is still using Outlook
as the default email when I clink on a mailto link in the browser.
How do I get Gmail to be my default email when I click on a mailto
link in the browser?

In IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > Programs. Select Gmail as
Email program.

You need either google toolbar or Gmail notifer or google talk to make
your gmail default.

I already had Gmail notifier installed, I set the appropriate check
box to use Gmail for Internet Mailto, and still it did not work.
I finally reinstalled the notifier, checked the appropriate boxes, and
voila, now Gmail is my default email client.
So, some people may have to reinstall the program.
