Subject: Brief freeze in application while copying text in IE7
I've noticed recently (last month or so?) that when I select and copy
text out of a message while using IE7, the application will freeze for
several seconds before it gives up the text.

Any idea why, and if there is a setting I can change to prevent that
from happening?

How do you "copy text out of a message"?  What do you mean 'give up
the text"? Do you mean you try to delete a block of text and it takes
a few seconds to do so?

Does the problem happen in another computer?

View a message, select the text with your mouse, and hit CTRL-C.  The
application (IE7) hangs for a few seconds.

It happens on multiple computers, but it only happens inside GMail.

Tytr to see how your printer is set up for "SPOOLING"..may need new
drivers for your aging model.. Or(That if what you mean its that you
are waiting before the text gets to the printer", so check your
printing setup, especially in the Control Panel, where the printer is
set up.
You might not be spooling for the printer to print right away after
the txt is spooled.
 It really worth a try.

Spooler?  I'm not printing anything.

As I said in my message on Jul 24@7:53, when I'm reading an email, I
select text with my mouse and hit CTRL-C, and the application
freezes.  The printer is not involved.

Disable your antivirus and test.

I brought up this issue on another forum but there was no answer. I
use Firefox currently 2.0.0.11 (uninstalled the new version to test)
and I get the same issue except the browser freezes gives a memory
error then closes. I can fix the issue by clicking at the top of Gmail
on "Older Version" and the issue goes away.
I have been periodically changing back to the new version to see if
the issue is still there and currently it is still there.

Not an option.  I am on a centrally managed PC and do not have
administrative rights.
