gmail service interruption

I stopped recieving email - any email - from 1:30 p.m. (EST) until 8
ish a.m. this morning and I'm not the only one. A test from my
personal gamail account to my company's Premier Google Apps account
was delivered but nothing came from the outside world to EITHER

POP access doesn't require Yahoo Mail Plus. I have a free account and
I can use it. IIRC, you only had to check a "Receive promotional
offers" checkbox that does absolutely nothing in your account options
to enable it. I've just looked, and it doesn't seem required anymore.

Even though I can use POP mail, I don't use it as I prefer to transfer

I found out paperclip icon is often (but not always, this is odd !!)
missing with PDF format files attachments...
On the other hand, looking for mail with searching engine, by only
checking "Has attachments", it includes all emails with inline or icon
attachments (like logo/signature..) and emails with attachments but

Automatic conversations grouping: gmail doesn't recognize international prefixes

When creating conversations, Gmail fails to recognize some prefixes
added by non English clients/webmail providers. This results in
conversations forks, which are inconvenient.

For example, some danish clients add "Svar:" instead of "Re:" at the
beginning of their replies, whereas an italian client adds "R:", both

I doubt it. POP access requires Yahoo! Mail Plus, which costs me $20/
year. The problem affects anyone who accesses Yahoo Mail via POP. I
don't use Gmail to do that. Instead I use the getmail program on my

I have not clicked on any links in any messages verifying that I'd
It is not a big deal to delete these messages but I am concerned that
I am receiving spam from "me". Does anyone know how to stop this or
how to contact a gmail tech for help.

I'm sending out an automated email from my private email-server once
every day, to a number of people, and since 2008-12-04 my Gmail-
account, and my co-workers (these two are tested) can see the BCC-
names from the sent email.

Has any other has these problems, or should I perhaps start searching

Chat box appearing from Gmail on Orkut

Hi,

I know Gmail and Orkut are of Google.But the issues that i face are

1.If I log out of Gmail automatically Orkut also sign off

2.The Chat pop ups that we use on Gmail appear on my Orkut screen as
blank popups blocking my reading pane

Not sure what the issue is .Please assist

What about something like...the notifier says there are over 650
unread messages when all the messages in the account have been read?
This happened to me about two days ago. I logged into Gmail and the
notifier and it said I had 650 unread messages. I was shocked because
I had no idea how that could happen! Well...I only had about 30 unread

My account works on all machines except one old computer running Win.
98. On that machine, upgraded to IE 6. but even with basic HTML the
opening screen after login appears but no messages. Only a the star
icon appears where the messages should be. Scrolling down blanks the
entire screen.

Perhaps Yahoo is doing this on purpose? Maybe they are tired of
resources on their servers via POP being used by Gmail accounts?
Hoping to get Gmail users to come back to Yahoo, they garbage up the
messages in Gmail and leave them just fine in Yahoo.
