Subject: Help! Modifying attachments recovery
I sent myself a word document attachment, I clicked download, then I
clicked open.  I got to the word file, I did a lot of work on it, and
I pressed the 'Disk' icon to save it and closed it.  I can't find the
file.  I see that it 'minimized' the border of the word window to show
that it saved it.  This means that if it saved the changes, it did it
into my gmail account somehow, because it 'minimized' the border into
the gmail tab at the bottom of the screen.  It seems like a very
common mistake, I did it once earlier today and a computer tech had no
answer, he just said that it didn't save.  Does anyone know how to
help with this problem?
Thanks for reading

This topic is for Chrome-related problems.

---

When you download-->open a file, the browser places it in the
temporary internet files folder of the browser. When you save it, it
is saved there. If you're lucky, you can still find it there.

Future advice: either first download the file and then open it from
your hard drive, or use the save as command to save it offline.
