I agree can the 'Guru's' be given 'delete' privileges. This Group is
getting harder to give help to people that need it for the Google Maps
API and frustrating for consistent users.
With all due respect, I'd prefer the *spam* filter option.
Let employees decide whether posts should be deleted. After all,
that's what they're paid for...

No, it's not.
Google employees who you might see around here are software
developers, not baby sitters.
I do not believe that their job description includes looking after
infants who post spam to the group.
That's why we, the community, share the burden of marking spam, and
being able to push the 'vaporize' button would be even better.
I did mean "a" Google employee. Somebody that works these forums (not
just this one) to remove such topics since I'm sure it's a fulltime
job. Or upgrade the captcha :p

Although adding a captcha to the first x posts to a new group for an
individual user might not be a bad idea. After passing ten captchas
the captcha disappears. Ah hell there are a gazillion ways to bother
spambots with minimal impact to regular users.

Ahhhh. Ok - that's a good idea. Sorry, i thougth you did mean to input
a captcha for _every_ post on the group... I have some problems with
captchas (could not read it, input the wrong, ...) before and
therefore i leave every forum where i could not enter a message
immediatly without any difficulty.
