map.openInfoWindow(map.getCenter(), document.createTextNode('Hello'));

The info window pops up but I don't see any text.

This used to work.  What's up?

You are doing something wrong.

As that line works for me in IE6 in a simple map, you should probably
read the posting guidelines and post a link to a map that shows the
problem (or try clearing your cache...)

Perhaps because the InfoWindow is now modularised, meaning it has to
go and fetch some javasript the first time you call it.

See this thread -

If the infowindow opens, then the function is working. If your string
'Hello' is not appearing it is likely not being recognized as a
string. This would likely have something to do with the placement of
that line of code.

Do you have script error reporting turned on for your browser and are
you getting a javaScript error when you load the map

Lets see your map dude.

It works for me.

Check your CSS to see if you're displaying white text on a white
background.

If still stuck, post a link to a page that exhibits the problem.
