Hi Munish,

For your budget you can buy a Hercules Atom or a Hero Thunder MTB. My
friend uses the Atom to travel to office (5-6 km one way) and finds it
pretty comfortable. There are a few members in the group who have the
Hero Thunder MTB so they could vouch for that one. Both of these come
in standard frame sizes but they should be quite all right for your
height. I recommend you take a test ride of both.

Hi,
I have a Thunder MTB 21 gears but it would cost around 6.5k. It is an all
aluminum cycle and weighs about 15 kg. It is slightly above your budget but
in this price range this is the best option. You can get cycles for less but
they would all be steel frame and would weigh around 25 kg. You can look at
Hero Hawk 15 gears which IIRC would be around 4k but is steel frame.

I bought my cycle from Presidency but since its very far from my home, I
rather visit RR cycles madiwala for any problem with the cycle and I'm
really happy with the service, prices, and freebies ;) I get there.

Regarding frame size, I think you wont have problem with either the Thunder
or Hawk. Just make sure you adjust the saddle height and handlebar correctly
as described here: http://notebook.bumsonthesaddle.com/faq:bike-setup

You can go to the street adjacent to Commercial street [near alice
jewellery].. you would find quite a few bike in your budget.

Framesize - it changes based on the model. For Hercules 51cms should
be fine for you [measured from bottom bracket uptill the saddle frame.
Typically a particular type of bike comes only in one frame size at
this range.

Service - its tough to get good service - you have to try out a few
places. Also basic service isn't too difficult, you can find quite a
few video tutorials. Try to buy the cycle from an authorised re-seller
[you would find them in the respective company website]. Price - again
you have to check in multiple places - you might easily get 20% or
more discount on the MRP.

Geared cycle you can look at Mach 18 -> https://www.ticyclesindia.com/ProductFeatures.asp?pid=194
non geared you can look at Photon -> https://www.ticyclesindia.com/ProductFeatures.asp?pid=34

I bought my cycle from RR Cycles in Madiwala [opp total mall parking
entry]. Enquire in couple of places and hard negotiate in any shop you
buy.
