hello all bikers and fans, we propose to have BBCh 7 inside manyatta residential layout in bangalore north, this is behind *Manyatta Tech Park (*IBM, Philips, Lucent, Nokia Siemens, etc) on the northern ring road.
this morning Darren Reid and myself went on a good exploration ride through all the by lanes of the sparsely inhabitated but well greened and maintained layout and put togehter a good loop of exactly 2 km length. its got it all, tight corners, wide bends, up hill with s curve and long downhill etc. all around a park, Shivraj Kumars new house and soft lawns at starting point and finish line in shade of trees. its almost picture perfect and thanks to Dr. Arvind introducing BBC to Manyatta -Embassy 's CEO Gopi Krishnan we have the backing of the management at highest level. I am in touch with the estate Manager Sheshagiri and will meet him next tuesday at site to finalize arrangements. starting will have to be 8 to 8.30 only because of resid. neighbourhood.
the r ace loop should be fairly easy to marshal with a few people posted at some corners only. we need to do some good sweeping to get sand out of the corners; maybe saturday evening and sunday morning, possibley we get some support and help from manyatta teams also. so here is the job for some volunteers and riders both!
i expect this to go smoothly and hope we do not encounter hitches at the venue last minute!
*course viewing and first riding:* *sunday nov 8 at 9.30 AM at manyatta gate no. 1 ( the one closer towards Hebbal opp. the new Bharat electronics corp. office). the entrance is landscaped and has a arched giant green lattice girder across the drive and security cabin. go inside proceed onthe wide road 1 km passing all the new IT buildings until you come to the palm lined double road avenue and the monumental fountain with a circle around. there is the starting point .*
this event can wittness more riders because its proximity to town..... and lets do good promotion next week to progate the races , particluarly with all the company staff of Manyatta which numbers into the thousands! mayank, what you say? so beat the promotions drum! good riding and looking forward, georg

Trust weddings, and events such as Ultra don't fall in the same category.
The mail was not meant to offend any one's choice of dates, nor pose
questions that are irrelevant. All of us are promoting events in the spirit
they are meant to be, and we revise a pre-planned event at times for
reasons, again in the same spirit. Why sneer?

I waited there at the fountain from 9:15 to 9:45..... saw nobody (seems like
everyone chickened out due to the slight drizzle).... so did a tiny scan of
the place.... and then rode off to Bagalur (the Sarjapur side one), to
finish my quota of doin a 100 km ride today.... Massive headwinds, and then
rain! Endured through it and made my bike look pretty with all the sprayed
slime

BBCh has been happening on the 3rd sunday of every month and its always nice to stick to a predictable schedule.
Its unfortunate that such an overlap has happened and we will miss some good riders this weekend.
I am sure down the line there will be a day when they will miss some good runners too.
bangalore has come to a point where there is enough things happenin on every weekend that its almost impossible to avoid a clash.... So the best way out is to let time average out the bad luck some may face

there and was confirmed it was 15 nov. so thats how it is.

no worries folks .. Lets not draw any swords or tongues
next year around we will try and see how we can work with various
organizations so that this un-organization does not clash and we all get to
do all the exciting things in life ;)
Triathlons, marathons, duathlons, biathlons, bike rides, ultras, races,
urban runs, tfns etc etc .. we shall do it all ..

No worries Rohan. No swords, or words being crossed :) I would have loved to
have done this one, considering that I have either always been out of town
or had another event during the previous BBCh events. Good luck to me next
time ! Will do it just for fun, even if I will be way down on the point list
:) Good luck with this one.

Rohan, I had registered online as volunteer couple of days ago. Is there something wrong with the registration page that my entry got missed? I can come early on the race day to help with the track and other logistic support as required, Please let me know in advance, Rgds, Nalla.

Will miss volunteering or participating this time. All the best to all
Participants! :-) Do your best ! And yes, remember to register before
hand to get your numbers (you could stick to choosing 3-digit or less
number) and do display your jersey numbers clearly on your chest or
bike fronts for volunteers to do their jobs well.
All the best once again. And wish me good luck too for the Ultra. I am
running 25 K this time. :-)

What is the estimated start time?
If sweeping and so on is required, I'm guessing that will take a while???
How many corners are there in the circuit?

good questions,
tomorrow i am meeting the estate manager Sheshagiri of Manyatta in the
morning a t 9 at the site. will take him around and also ask him if their
sweeper's brigade can help us with the corners. he will set the start time
(thast was the only request , not to start too early because of the
residents sunday morning sleep). and we shall see. particularly how many man
hours of sweep we will have to put in. any way it will be manageable.
*
the track: 2 km ; totally*
6 90deg corners,
1 double 's' (;or count it as 2 no. 90 deg corners)
1 hairpin (180 deg corner)
4 speed brakers unfortunately, but they increase the handicap as they get
you out of rythm !
weill keep you all posted!
sorry Sudhir, yes the rain kept us off with our delicat road bikes! I sent
out the message to all the guys i had the mobile no.. its time i store
yours, please:
- sudhir
- vikram nat
- rajat agarwal
- gaurav
- and who else wnats to send me his / her mobile ?
regards,georg
PS: i realized today on the way to kengeri on my moulton that bangalroes
stop and go traffic with spee dhumps and irresponsible auto drivers is just
about the best driterium training i can get unless i could tap into Viveks
'foreign' driterium training modules for home trainers for freshly made
daddys! but dont worry guys vivek can be beaten this sunday as darren told
me that fresh Dads have always proven lack of agression and ambition at
the big race days!
sos there is a chance!
