There was this article on TV9 regarding Cyclists not being allowed in namma Forum Mall, as "non-polluting" vehicles aren't supposedly allowed !!!! GGI folks, kept their cool and fought for an hour to get what we actually did... Parking allowed and small but significant WIN achieved :-))

I see a lot of positivity and change in Bangaloreans as well as general public, courtesy "Cyclothon build up" I presume so.. Hopefully it's an indication of things to come and as Obama says "Change is In-evitable"
Great Work!!!.. Though I could not participate in the Saturday's event, I
was really happy to hear about the outcome.. :-)..
And just to see whether there's any change in attitude from *Forum*, I
visited Forum right after the Nandi climb today, Sunday evening at 6:30
pm... Well needless to say that first the security at the entrance told me
that "No Parking for Cycles."!!!!. I had to then remind them of Saturdays
"TV9 Coverage" and GoGreen's event ;-) . Thats when they allowed me to move
in and park, but only after paying 15/- as the parking fee :-)..
Anyhow, I was happy to get an entry after the long Nandi ride.. :-). I spent
some time at KFC and then rode back home..
I just hope that next time we can ask the malls to provide Cycle Racks to
which we can lock our cycles. That will surve two purposes,
One, allocate that space for cyclists and
Two, a greater security against stealing of cycles or their gears.. :-)
Thanks for helping in promoting City Cycling and Environment
Consciousness... I will try proving any assistance in future whenever
possible... :-)

This is really fantastic initiative. But i was wondering why are they
collecting the parking fee like Motorbikes? May be down the line, we
would press them strongly to reduce the parking fee since our bikes
are not occuyping much space.
Unlike Forum, Other shopping malls such as Big Bazaar and Hyper Market
(SPAR) is offering free parking for cycles.
BTW, It is definely a good sign for Green lovers, Bikers and Common
man who wants to pedal within the city for all their needs.

Garuda Mall has free parking for cycles with a token system. The guard gives you a token when you park in the special area for cycles, and when leaving, you return the token and pick any bike you want, preferably your own.
