Well, OK! I'm from scenic Benton, Arkansas (about 20 miles southwest
of Little Rock) and moved back here four years ago after being away
for 13 years. Here are a few pics of my beloved hometown:

a good view of the downtown square. Benton is the Saline County seat
and the courthouse is over 100 years old.

The mighty Benton Panthers (maroon and gray uniforms) square off
against the Little Rock Catholic High Rockets in a home game at C.W.
Lewis Stadium. Oddly, the stadium is nowhere near the high school. I
still go see the Panthers play their home games with my Dad during the
fall. Old habits die hard, seemingly.

http://www.bridgehunter.com/photos/10/10/101017-M.jpg -- The old Tull
Bridge near Benton. That scary old bridge, which spanned the Saline
River, was frightening, indeed, as the deck of it was made of wooden
planks that rattled like crazy when you drove over them. My friends
and I used to pattern our shotguns down the river from that bridge
when I was in high school (and, we'd travel over to it when we were
home from college, too). The bridge is pretty much in the middle of
nowhere, but we managed to disturb a farmer out that way while he was
working his fields.

"Hey!" he yelled. "Y'all don't shoot me, all right?"

Heh!

I blog away about real estate right now. Maybe I should work in a bit
of Arkansas history one of these days...

Enjoy!
