Hi Julie,
You can easily and quickly fix this by yourself:
1) add your intended account to the blog as a contributor
2) make the contributor an admin
3) verify that the new account works fine as admin (eg change the
settings/template, create/edit posts, etc, etc)
4) once satisfied that the new account is fine, then you can remove
the original account from the blog's permissions list, or reduce it to
a guest instead of admin.
