How to track visitors to your blog and how to install visitor counter

You can easily track visitors to your blog and get many useful statistics by installing a visitor counter. There are many free visitor counters like Statcounter, Sitemeter, Google Analytics. I personally don't like Sitemeter because I feel it is more suited to getting trends and nice bar charts, etc. I also don't like Google Analytics because I feel it gives too much statistics and it is more suited for e-Commerce sites and for those who uses Google AdWord for advertising. I personally prefer Statcounter. Please refer to Install visitor counter (Statcounter) to blog. The instructions are for installing an invisible counter as the steps required are simpler and less. Getting the script for a visible counter is not much different, and if you do not know how to do it, just leave a comment and I will see what I can do.There are lots of screen shots to help guide you in getting the script and in adding to your blog so even a complete beginner should be able to follow the instructions. This one is for blogs with New Blogger XML templates.

For those blogs still using the old classic Blogger templates, please refer to Install visitor counter to classic template blogs. If you want to know what are some of the statistics, including screen shots, refer to Statcounter statistics.
