Subject: sbs 2003 r2 acpitabl.dat hang in safe mode
Anyone got a fix for an acpitbl.dat hand in safe mode.

Client server hung this morning and was hard booted (power recycled), on
reboot just hang, reboot again in safe mode and this hangs at acpitbl.dat

Pair of drives attached to a Promise Sata 300 pci card, drives are dynamic
mirror.

Reseating card and drives allow for a slower than normal reboot, and log in
managed to normal desktop. Reloaded Promise drivers and rebooted, again it
hung.

Without going to a full metal restore, is there any way to load mobo drivers
and strap the drives onto the mobo sata slots, i.e. dump the promise card?

Appreciate any help.

Hmmm.... (see last post in this thread)

Acpitbl.dat Problem
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-2161893.php
----------------------------
"Encountered the same problem under Win2k3 Server Standard with a RAID 1
array.
Solution was to break the array by removing a hard drive (The RAID status
then changes to Degraded), then boot the OS.  Splash screen goes away in
normal time. Log in, rebuild your array with it's software. Done."

Many thanks Merv

That worked - drive and card were potentially faulty. Trashed both.
