Those who love John Huston's swan song were ready to celebrate.

Not so fast: every website lists it at 73 minutes, 10 minutes shorter than
the release running time.  Apparently, it isn't a misprint.  According to
dvdverdict.com and other sources, 10 minutes disappeared from the early
going, and the transfer doesn't measure up, either.

I haven't been able to see it yet myself.  But the Barnes and Noble website
lists the DVD chapters, with timings for each.  Checking against my Vestron
VHS copy, the piano-solo and recitation scenes would be coming in nine
minutes sooner than they should.

Isn't the DVD of Marty similarly screwed up, deleting the scene with Clara
and her parents?

Dumb, dumb, dumb.
