From other reviews:
"I don't mind if something blows up every five minutes so long as I'm given a reason to care why something is blowing up every five minutes."
"The only collateral damage is in the audience, where, as you sit through the movie, you can feel your IQ drop minute by minute."

Cringe-inducing diaglogue:
The Doctor: "Now that we have a moment to ourselves... I've designed something especially for you, James." [The Doctor injects nanomites into James McCullen's head.] "This will only hurt a little. What comes next... more so. Nanomites, perfect little healers." [James McCullen's head becomes completely silver.]
Destro: "...I've finally taken my place in the long line of McCullens."
The Doctor: "James McCullen is no more. Now, you are Destro."
Destro: "What have you done to me?"
The Doctor: "The time has come for the cobra to rise up and reveal himself. You will call me... Commander."
Geez, I always get this wrong...Isn't GIJOE: The Rise of Cobra supposed to be based on the cartoon if not Sigma Six? In the cartoon they do incredible things and have incredible technology. They have jets that can chase rockets. Pods that can fly. GIJOE has always been about the imagination one has when a GIJOEis in his hands.
Because I grew up during the time of Vietnam I would like to see more war GIJOE movies...not that hippie AT baloney ;-0 ....But as long as Joe doesn't sell I doubt we'll see and AT movie anytime soon let alone another GIJOE movie... ;-0

There's always THE STORY OF G.I. JOE (1945), starring Burgess Meredith as WWII correspondent Ernie Pyle, who was killed on the front before the movie came out. Robert Mitchum gave an attention-grabbing performance as one of the G.I.'s and he got his only Oscar nomination for it. William Wellman directed.

Yeah, I wanted to jam an ice pick in each ear after hearing that bit! First McCullen says "I've finally taken my place..." which seems to me to mean "Finally, my head is silver, like my great-great Grandfather's", then he says "What have you done..." Which seems to mean "AAAHHH! MY HEAD IS SILVER!" Also, there wasn't a single moment Cobra Commander was on screen that didn't suck royally. It was a character created by a writer, a costume designer, and an actor who should never have quit their day jobs. The only thing I liked in that movie was Ripcord. Wayans made him a likeable, if somewhat overly comical character. Duke was so wooden, he and Anakin Skywalker should be standing in front of a cigar store somewhere. I wanted to like SnakeEyes, or, more accurately, his fight scene with Storm Shadow. but the editor couldn't leave that scene alone. He should have sat down, grabbed a bucket of popcorn, and let Ray Parks do his job.
Form all this, you may think I hated the movie, However, I had low expectations to begin with, given that I HATED the cartoon. (HATED,HATED,HATED IT!) If the movie had been two hours of SnakeEyes and Larry the Cable Guy lighting each others' farts, it still would have been better than the cartoon, so what they came up with was better than I expected.
Besides, my boys liked it, and it gave them more of a connection to Joes, so I can't complain there. They'll probably get it from Santa for Christmas.

The movie was mindless crapola, but I didn't mind it. I enjoyed watching Sienna Miller strut around in the tight leather!

Adventure Team... Hasbro moved away from the military G.I. Joe to the Adventure Team. In England he was called ( and I believe still is) Action Man.

As Joe set off in search of yeti's, white tigers and radioactive meteorites, Action Man was still sticking it to the bad guys. Up to that point Joe and AM were pretty much interchangeable. I wasn't even aware of the AT Joes until I got back in to the hobby in the 90s and bought my first collectors guide.
