After reading your list, I've determined you have a very generous
definition of the word great.

Midnight Express, indeed.

I like Midnight Express a lot.  But more to the point, it's Citizen Kane
compared to Predator.  Predator.  Great film.  Yeah.  And I'm Marie of
Roumania.

Midnight Express, as I recall, caused something of an international

forthcoming.  Citizen Kane, I couldn't say so much: roughly, it's
about Hearst, sensationalism, and bipartisan lacking.  I've recently
read that half Americans don't trust to believe spew coming from
newspapers, with only the WSJ (by 1%) showing growth, in the last

being one of that half, were the alternative one solely of watching
corporate televised news -- without time given to drilling depths for
a comfortable level of reading news from the internet for options and

Yes, I think that the Predator's production team might well be surprised to
have found the title on a "Great" list, but I have to agree on the f/x as
you
call it.
I still get a kick from seeing the first image of the alien as a slight
ripple in
the leaves.
Man-sweat bothering? That closes off most action movies.

That 'ripple in the leaves' is imo the biggest obstacle to a
creditable PREDATOR "re-imagining".  E.g., just look how Gort fared in
the recent DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL remake...

"Miller's Crossing" is the worst film ever made.
It fails on every level: as a straight crime drama it's laughably bad, as a
pastiche it's inane, as a comedy it's not funny.
The script stinks and the acting is even worse!
Give me "The Glass Key" any day over this dreck...

I loved Miller's Crossing.  Didn't you find it entertaining?  Who
cares what genre it fits into?
I don't think you can say it wasn't entertaining.  Everyone thinks it
entertaining.

The Greatest Film Ever Made ( working title ) is now in preproduction.
The opus will feature O J Simpson as Othello , music by Phil Spector and
direction by R. Polanski. O J has reportedly cut back on his color
commentary of rec time checker matches to " find the man " . Mr. Spector
has put aside his new found interest in Blues and has promised
production of a Wall of Sound appropriate to any direction Mr. Polanski
may have in mind. Phil added that if his Mrs. starts any shit he may try
out for the role himself. Mr. Polanski has indicated his vision of the
vengeful Moor will be suitable for children under the age of 13.
Further details will be forthcoming from Ron Kuby if and when he can get
them all out of the can .

Ponderous, pretentious, derivative, self-important drivel. It's one
movie that should have inspired a comic book. So put me down in the
"I'm saying it wasn't entertaining" column. It was junk.
