Subject: Re: OT: Leaving Money to Pets
I have lots of people, but all of them have pets. Most of them have
dogs. Most of them own houses and have dog doors. All the feral cats
around my house I feed. Raccoons come onto my porch and eat. Possums
do also. A cat (feral) I had been feeding for the last 6 years , which
I could never pet, but would be at the back door every night and
morning, didn't show up last week. Have no idea how old it was. Would
have taken it to a vet, but I would have had to trap it, plus not many
vets want to deal with this. This cat was a tough guy.

Hasn't shown up for more than a week now, so I can assume he died
somehow. I really felt badly and still do. My house has at least 100
feet or ramps for the cats to run up and down the ceilings, plus 4 big
cat poles at least 8 feet high. The back veranda is totally enclosed
with chicken wire, letting the cats go out whenever they like, but not
letting them go anywhere.

Some of the other cats lay outside of the veranda and it's fun to
watch these guys look at each other. Many people have happy marriages,
but most don't. Otherwise the divorce rate wouldn't be a high as it
is. Plus, I think children should have both parents, not just one. My
cats bring me pleasure. I can leave them for several days and leave
food, water and plenty of litter and know they will be safe. People
without animals don't realize each animal has it's own personality.
It's one like Chinese food, while another wants Italian. Pets are not
cheap these days. My cats like Fancy Feast. None are over weight. I
have dry food for them also.

Here's something people may not know about cats. Make the food harder
to get to, they like that better than just having it on the floor. Vet
bills can really be large if an animal gets sick. A while back one of
my dogs had cancer. Got a tumor. I got the dog as a puppy from the
pound after my wife brought another dog home. The dogs a darling
female mutt, about 40 pounds. We got a divorce because of my wife
picking up all the strays then not taking care of them. If you do
something, you are responsible for your acts. I told my wife she'd get
her dog run over the way she handled him. I really loved that dog,
plus the dog I got for him as a companion. Naturally, she lets him get
run over. The money to try and save him was in excess of $4,000. The
money spent to get rid of my other dogs cancer was in excess of
$4,000. Now she's great. The people asked for a loan to save the dog.
I stepped in.

pets need flea medicine, not the cheap ones. If a pet gets worms, the
pills are about $20 each. With multiple pets, many things are
contagious. To me, pets are like children that never grow up. I've had
my cats since they were all little kittens. Two I found wandering in
the street in no where land, not having a chance to live if I didn't
take them in. I had two, now I have four.
