Microcurrent plasma tube
What is the lowest power option to ionize a very small plasma tube? IOW I want to ignite (pulse) a small tube in a 4 x "AA" battery powered device, at the appropriate voltage, at around 100Hz. The duty cycle of the waveform can be shorted to conserve battery life, if required. What type of off-the-shelf... more »

7805 regulator input voltage confusion ??
hi, just looking up some specs on the 7805 regulator , one site says a max of 35vdc input and this says 25vdc max input ([link]) ,,,,,, i`m pretty sure the max is 35vdc ? what is correct ? also i have nearly finished building a fixed and adj power supply all in... more »

Your opinion on bad sound
I like to go clubbing. I've noticed that sometimes the sound quality is terrible. Distortion like clipping due to using underpowered amps. I've also noticed that after a night out at these places I get a bad ringing that lasts for weeks, and it's not just my regular tinnitus, it's new tones and a weird screeching sound when I listen to everyday... more »

Bipolar +/- 30 V 1 A 1 kHz sine wave amplifier - op amp, voltage controlled power supply, or ??
I need to amplify a sine wave (0.05 to 1 kHz) to +/- 30 Volts at 1 Amp. The output voltage needs to be adjustable and can be accomplished by varying the input amplitude or circuit gain. I've considered using an op amp such as the OPA548 but am wondering if there is a bipolar power supply capable of external voltage control... more »

Microwave diode?
Have simple detector circuit that specifies 1N21B diode. That diode is 20-plus years old and obsolete. Looking for current equivalent, possibly (but not necessarily) smt. Are these useable in place of a 1N21B for 2.4 GHz detection?: <[link]> <[link]> Suggestions welcome.... more »

Digital to Analog converter, accuracy, resolution and selection
Hello All, I have chosen analog devices AD5532HS for my project. The main reason that I chose this DAC was because of its 32 voltage output channels. You can find the DAC at [link] My post is long and I request you to be patience and helpful. I need... more »

Clamping of the inductive spikes
Recently I have encountered the problem of clamping the voltage spike on the inductive load. The initial current in the load is about 100A, the spike voltage slew rate when the load is disconnected is at the order of 500V/us. If we clamp the load with a diode, the clamping appears to be not very... more »

Pinout for 2n4893 in Plastic Package
I'm searching for the pinout for a 2n4893 unijunction transistor, or a test to identify the pins without blowing up what turned out to be a 18$ part. Thanks, Steve Roberts
